Susan Munnings Haley, 84, of Nevis MN, died September 28, 2021 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was born in Superior, Wisconsin on July 28, 1937. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Jeannette Munnings; sisters Marbeth, Florence, and Bernice; and brothers George Jr., Robert, and William. She is survived by her loving husband Joel, son Patrick Haley and daughter Nancy Redding; sisters Frances Munnings and Ruth Beckwell; and brother John Munnings. She is also survived by four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Susan received her teaching degree from the University of Wisconsin (Superior) and taught English in Barron, Wisconsin; Roseville, Minnesota; and Heidelberg, Germany. She and Joel were married for 46 years. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Nevis, Minnesota, where they built a house on Lake Belle Taine. Susan worked for the Nevis school system as an administrative assistant and then became librarian for the Nevis K-12 school. She loved quilting and was a member of two local quilting groups: “The Nines” and the “Crazy Quilters.” She loved to garden and spent hundreds of hours in her flower beds. She donated her body to the Mayo Clinic; a simple remembrance will be held at her home when her ashes have been returned. She is sorely missed by all who loved her dearly. Memorials in Susan’s name can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or donor’s choice.
