Debbie A. Burley died unexpectedly and entered into eternal life with her parents Norbert and Lucille Smith on Thursday, November 26, 2020, in Waukesha at age 67. Debbie was the loving wife of Bob who appreciated everything that she did for him. Devoted mother and best friend of Renae and proud mother of Michelle. Sister of Judy (Paul) Lisius and Paulette Smith. Special friend of Cindy Zieroth.
Debbie graduated from Mercy High School in 1971 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from The University of Milwaukee in 1977. Debbie met her husband Bob in 1972 and dated for a year until they united in marriage on June 22, 1974.
Debbie worked as a social worker all of her life caring for the elderly. She was passionate about her profession and cared deeply for everyone she knew. She even went on to start her own business, “Senior Concerns”, with her dear friend for a few short years.
When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed taking cruises to the Caribbean with her daughter Renae to many places; sometimes taking several cruises a year. Debbie also would spend time with Renae having daily coffee chats and car rides spending hours being together every day. Debbie also enjoyed going to Las Vegas with the entire family and being around family.
Debbie enjoyed working on numerous jigsaw puzzles as of late and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. She enjoyed playing games on her iPad hours on end and bargain shopping every other day.
Most importantly Debbie enjoyed spending time with her family and two daughters above everything else. She will truly be missed and loved by many forever.
A private service will be held to celebrate Debbie’s life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association are appreciated in Debbie’s memory.
