Richard H. “Dick” Pavelski, age 78, of Eau Claire, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family.
Richard was born on March 28, 1940, in Eau Claire to the late Frank and Ella (Henning) Pavelski. He graduated from Regis High School with the Class of 1958. Richard started work as a brick layer and eventually opened his own masonry and poured wall construction business in 1973 under the name Pavelski Construction. He married Connie Lemke on February 23, 1980. Richard was a lifelong member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church. He was also a member of a trap shoot team at Westgate Sportsman’s Club. Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially deep sea fishing. He was a lover of horses and snowmobiles, winning many awards.
Richard is survived by his wife of 38 years, Connie; sons, Tony, Bob (Deb), Jeff (Jackie), and Tom (Terina) Pavelski; daughter, Lori (Rusty) Franson; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Halama; brothers-in-law, John, Jim, Ben, and Steve (Deb) Lemke; sisters-in-law, Karen (John) Evenson, Sue Ulrich, Judy Braitsch, and Faye Lemke; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Baby Pavelski; siblings, Frank (Paula) Pavelski, Jim (Kay) Pavelski, Don (Mary Lou) Pavelski, and Lucille (Peter) Schumacher; daughter-in-law, Shelley Pavelski; brother-in-law, Eugene Halama; and many other relatives.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St, Eau Claire, WI, with Father Tom Krieg presiding. A visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at the WEST CHAPEL of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N Clairemont Ave, Eau Claire, with a vigil prayer service at 6:30 p.m., and again one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Eau Claire.
