Charlotte M. Deardorff
age 87, of Butternut, passed away on August 2, 2018 at Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls. She was born to John and Dorothy Deardorff in Chicago, IL. She married John Greenwood and they had four children. Charlotte is the granddaughter of Laben Fisher Deardorff of L.F.Deardorff & Sons, Inc, of Chicago, IL, makers of world renowned studio cameras.
She was a talented artist, decorator, and designer. She worked for a commercial art firm in Chicago, then for Marshall Field & Co, where she became head of the design/display department for all of the stores in the USA. She played classical piano on the piano her parents gave her as a child. Her mind never stopped creating art, even when she was no longer able to physically create. After she retired she returned to Wisconsin to be near her children and the beautiful north woods she loved.
She is survived by her son Larry Greenwood (Debbie), her daughter Donna Greenwood-Wirth, (9)grandchildren, (21)great-grandchildren, and (2)great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Susie Greenwood, her daughter Marilyn Greenwood, her granddaughter Brenda Greenwood, her great-granddaughter Destany Perez, her brother John “Jack” Deardorff, her sister June Stenstrom and her three husbands.
A private service will be held at a later date.
