Richard G. LeComte

Richard G. LeComte, 80, of Lakewood, Wisconsin passed away at UW Hospital on August 11, 2018 with his family by his side.
The son of the late Anne (Fredrick) and Gustave LeComte was born February 27, 1938 in Oconto, where he spent his youth with his brother, Tom LeComte .
Richard married the love of his life, Mary E. Zelten, on June 8, 1963. They raised their family in Lakewood and Green Bay. He was employed at Procter and Gamble for 22 years on the engineering team, retiring in 1998. He also served in the United States Air Force and was assigned to the Drone Squadron. Richard was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He and Mary spent many summers in Alaska with Dick and Jean Johnson commercial fishing, hunting and enjoying the Alaskan wilderness. He was always doing projects which even included designing and building his retirement home. He enjoyed gardening, canning and preserving, annual Belgian Trippe sausage making, trap shooting, snowmobiling and riding his motorcycle.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. LeComte, their children: David LeComte (Ann) of Green Bay and Lisa (Mark) Gleason of De Pere; grandchildren include: Ben and Katie LeComte; Taylor and Matthew (Kimberly) Gleason; his brother Tom (Patty) LeComte of Jefferson City Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2018 at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church in Lakewood, WI with Father Philip Dinh-Van-Theip officiating, followed by military honors by the American Legion Sylvan Post 44. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to time of service at church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you the kind and caring staff of the Cardiac ICU at the UW Hospital in Madison. Your support of Richard and the kindness you extended to the family made this very difficult time much easier.
