Richard was born June 3, 1940, in Park Falls, WI, to Emil and Theresa Pauser.  He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from UW-Platteville and worked as an engineer in the Twin Cities.  He married Jeanine Dallas and they moved to Eau Claire and had two children, Susan Bevers and Michelle Pauser.  Richard worked for the State of Wisconsin as a Civil Engineer, working on projects around Eau Claire until he retired.  He eventually moved back to the Park Falls area and bought a place on Newman Lake.  He enjoyed the Northwoods and shared many wonderful years there with Mary Jane Lobermeier.

Richard enjoyed many hobbies.  Back in the day, he was part of the Pleasant Valley Roughriders snowmobile club.  He enjoyed fishing, annual camping trips on the Turtle Flambeau flowage and fishing in the Boundary Waters.  He had been active on the Regis High School board.  He played cribbage and enjoyed being a cribbage coach for his granddaughter, Lauren, when she and Mary Jane would play.  He worked a variety of crossword puzzles (the hard ones) on a daily basis and played scrabble online.  He and Mary Jane enjoyed travelling and visiting the casinos.  Richard took up golf and played on golf leagues in both Park Falls and Arizona, where he and Mary Jane spent their winters.  He also enjoyed visits from his daughter and granddaughter.  He especially loved visits from Ol’ Ruffy, the best Golden Retriever ever.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Theresa as well as his daughter, Susan, and his sisters, Liz and Kath, and his companion, Mary Jane.  He is survived by his daughter, Michelle, and his granddaughter, Lauren.  He is also survived by his siblings, Don (Dianne), Chuck, and Mary (Butch) as well as many nieces and nephews.

May he rest in peace.
