Viola B Wenninger (Engel) Age 97, died peacefully on May 6, 2018 at Amery Memory Care in Amery WI. Viola Engel was born October 20, 1920 in Butternut WI to Anna Christian Engel and Henry Engel. She married Henry Wenninger, JR in Park Falls, WI on September 22, 1944. Prior to Heinie’s death on July 3, 2002, they were married for 57 years and together owned and operated the Electric Bakery in Park falls until the 1980’s, and the City Bakery, Wenninger’s Grocery Store and the Hep Cat Teen Center until 1958.
Surviving is their daughter, Judy Wenninger Foster of Centuria, WI; Grandchildren Sean Wenninger of Park Falls, Randy Foster (Laurie), San Antonio TX and Jennifer Foster, Centuria Wi. Seven great- grand –daughters Hailee , Wynter, Tymber and Jadyn Wenninger all of Park Falls and Ava, Ellie and Iris Foster of San Antonio TX. Two great-grandchildren preceded her in death, Bronson Wenninger and Delaney Foster. She also is survived two great- great grandchildren Rylie Belcher and Connor Severson. Surviving are 3 brothers, Walter (Marge) Engel of Wausea, Donald (Bert) Engel Ft Atkinson WI; Ervin (Alice) Engel Butternut ; One sister, Louise (Lenord) Hoefferle) Park Falls. She was preceded in death by three sisters Ruth (Art) Richter; Laura (Armond) Thimm; Ella (Clarence) Pohle and a very special neice Darla Hoefferle.
A celebration of her life will take place on June 16, 2018 at Peace Lutheran Church, 2nd Ave in Park Falls WI. Friends and Family gathering will take place starting at 12p and the Memorial Service at 1p. Coffee and deserts will follow after the service in the Church basement. Peach Lutheran is handicap accessible.
A family gathering for dinner will take place at AJ’s on Main Street at 5p.
Dedicated to my grandma and best friend
