Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Mt. Horeb Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. John Twiton officiating. Inurnment will be at West Blue Mounds Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. A gathering with family and friends will be from 11:00 AM until 12:50 PM at the church on Friday and also following the Memorial Service.
Heaven received another angel, Joyce Darlene Boness on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017 at Agrace HospiceCare with family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Joyce was born on March 8, 1931 in Madison, WI to Albert and Lena Anna (Bartling) Wesenberg.She attended Maple Grove Grade School and graduated as valedictorian of her class from Verona High School in 1949. Joyce worked at the Department of Agriculture and the UW Hospitals where she made many lifelong friendships. On August 5, 1967, Joyce was married to Dale E. Boness at St James Lutheran Church in Verona, WI. Dale and Joyce rented their first home “Cuckoo Hollow” in McFarland and later purchased their forever homestead, Bo-Joy Acres in Blue Mounds, WI. Joyce and her family moved to Clear Lake, Iowa where they enjoyed years of great friendships on Orchard Lane. Upon returning to Bo-Joy Acres in 1979, Dale and Joyce were active members of West Blue Mounds Lutheran Church where Joyce taught Sunday School. They later became members of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mount Horeb where Joyce was active in her church in many ways including Rebecca Circle and the Women’s Guild. Joyce’s titles were many including meteorologist, chef, domestic engineer, artist, seamstress, gardener and many others. Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother and wife who put herself behind everyone else.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Dale, two daughters: Polly (Chris) Rosborough of Mt. Horeb, Michelle (Chris) Klinkner of Blue Earth, MN; a step son: Andrew (Joanie) Boness of Longmont, CO; nine grandchildren: Cecilia, Sonja, Quentin Rosborough, Annaliese, Cole, Jaxen and Ashlyn Klinkner, Anna and Julia Boness who all loved their grandma very much and will miss her dearly; a brother: Ken Wesenberg of Schaumburg, IL, her sister: Lea DeHaven of Madison, sister-in-law: Diane Statter of Deltona, FL, brother-in-law: Gordon Boness of Oviedo, FL, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister: Jean Smith, her in-laws: Jan Wesenberg, Doc DeHaven, Gary Smith, and Dale Statter.
