Evelyn Karch, age 99 of Plover, passed away at the Lodge of Whispering Pines, where she has resided the past 5 years, while under the care of Heartland Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday June 6, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. Greg Michaud will officiate. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 9:30 – 10:45 am on Tuesday at the church. A Rosary for Evelyn will be prayed at 10:00 am in the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Shuda Funeral Service is assisting the family. Evelyn was born on July 31, 1917 in the Town of New Hope. She was the daughter of the late, Frank and Mary (Brilowski) Firkus. Evelyn married Edward Karch Sr. on Nov. 21, 1932 at Sacred Heart Church in Polonia. She was a 78 year member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society joining in 1939, and a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters since 1954, 63 years. Evelyn loved making her cinnamon bread and making Joe Brilowski’s dill pickles and sharing them with her family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for all her grandchildren. She loved working in her flower garden and visiting with her grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. Evelyn is survived by her children; Irene Olszewski, Ronald (Bernadatta) Karch, Edward Jr. (Sandra) Karch, Diane (Marvin) Milanowski. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren, her 2 sisters; Bernadetta Glodowski and Toni Hintz. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 2000, 4 sisters; Esther Domask, Eleanor Yolk, Agnes Karch and Grace Vannocci. Four brothers; Lawrence, Stanley, Alfred, and Benjamin Firkus. 2 grandsons: Carl and Thomas Olszewski. 4 great grandchildren: twins Kenneth and Karl Olszewski, Charles Olszewski, Benjamin Richter.
