Eleanor M. Testin

ELEANOR MARJORIE (NEE: EVANS) TESTIN WILD ROSE, WISCONSIN Age 102, passed away peacefully under hospice care on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Rosemore Village in Wild Rose, WI. She was born October 21, 1913 on her grandfather’s farm in the Town of Springwater, WI; daughter of Joseph and May (Larsen) Evans. When Eleanor was just 4 ½ years old, her mother passed away so she lived with her Aunt Flo (her mother’s sister) for a number of years as she attended Dopp Grade School and Wild Rose High School. Eleanor then went on to live with the Frank Dopp Family for several years before meeting her husband, Woodrow. On October 29, 1931, Eleanor married Woodrow Testin at Parfreyville United Methodist Church in Waupaca and together they shared 73 years of marriage before his passing on April 27, 2005. She was a faithful member of the Wild Rose United Methodist Church where she was active in the Women of the Church Group, and also served as president and secretary for a number of years. Eleanor enjoyed gardening, making handmade quilts, and was a leader for the Springwater 4-H Club. She will be deeply missed by all of her loving family and friends. Eleanor is survived by: Sons: Patrick Testin of New Berlin, WI Dennis (Norma) Testin of Wild Rose, WI Larry (Kathy) Testin of Mercer, WI Grandchildren: 5 Great-Grandchildren: 6 Great-Great-Grandchildren: 1 Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and May Evans; her husband, Woodrow Testin; a daughter-in-law, Mardelle Testin; and two brothers, Glenn Evans and Donald Evans. A Funeral Service will be on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Wild Rose United Methodist Church in Wild Rose, WI. Reverend Douglas Clement will officiate. A visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be at Greenvale (Dopp) Cemetery in the Town of Belmont following the service on Saturday. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements.
